J&rsquo;ai pleur\u00e9 quand j&rsquo;ai vu que mon nouveau b\u00e9b\u00e9 regardait et bougeait de la m\u00eame mani\u00e8re.\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Bien que Binta e\u00fbt conscience qu&rsquo;elle n&rsquo;\u00e9tait pas responsable de la mauvaise vue de ses enfants, le fait que ses deux gar\u00e7ons soient n\u00e9s avec des cataractes a g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9 chez elle un stress oppressant. Avec le temps, ce stress s&rsquo;est transform\u00e9 en maladie. Binta \u00e9tant accabl\u00e9e par le chagrin, sa m\u00e8re a propos\u00e9 d&rsquo;accueillir les deux gar\u00e7ons chez elle.<\/p>\n<p>En grandissant, Zackaria \u00e9tait conscient qu&rsquo;il ne pouvait pas voir comme les autres enfants. Mais il voulait quand m\u00eame vivre pleinement sa vie, notamment en jouant avec les autres enfants et en \u00e9tant m\u00eame assez ambitieux pour essayer de taper dans un ballon de football. Son professeur encourageait sa personnalit\u00e9 enjou\u00e9e et volontaire pour qu\u2019il ne s\u2019appesantisse pas sur son handicap. Elimane a demand\u00e9 \u00e0 sa m\u00e8re si lui et Zackaria pouvaient se rendre sur le navire-h\u00f4pital dans l&rsquo;espoir d&rsquo;\u00eatre gu\u00e9ri.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00ab\u00a0Il y a des gens qui viennent pour des op\u00e9rations gratuites pour les yeux\u00a0\u00bb, <\/em>a-t-il dit.<\/p>\n<p>Binta a rapidement emmen\u00e9 ses gar\u00e7ons \u00e0 l&rsquo;endroit o\u00f9 les patients \u00e9taient s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9s et les a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s aux b\u00e9n\u00e9voles. Malheureusement, apr\u00e8s un examen approfondi, Elimane ne pouvait pas \u00eatre op\u00e9r\u00e9. Il \u00e9tait aveugle depuis trop longtemps et les chances de r\u00e9ussite d&rsquo;une seconde op\u00e9ration \u00e9taient tr\u00e8s minces.<\/p>\n<p>En revanche, le cas du jeune Zackaria \u00e9tait plus prometteur ! On lui a donn\u00e9 une date d&rsquo;admission \u00e0 l&rsquo;h\u00f4pital. Il \u00e9tait tr\u00e8s press\u00e9 de voir et a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 compter les jours jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 son op\u00e9ration.<\/p>\n<p>Lorsqu&rsquo;ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 admis \u00e0 l&rsquo;h\u00f4pital \u00e0 bord de l&rsquo;<em>Africa Mercy<\/em>, Binta a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 que le r\u00eave d\u2019op\u00e9ration de son fils devenait r\u00e9alit\u00e9. Malgr\u00e9 sa peur, elle a pris confiance en elle, disant : <em>\u00ab\u00a0C&rsquo;\u00e9tait difficile, mais j&rsquo;ai mis la situation entre les mains de Zackaria \u00a0est sorti de l&rsquo;h\u00f4pital le lendemain et est revenu une semaine plus tard pour un contr\u00f4le oculaire. Six semaines apr\u00e8s l&rsquo;op\u00e9ration, Zackaria a eu un dernier contr\u00f4le et a particip\u00e9 \u00e0 la \u00ab\u00a0c\u00e9l\u00e9bration de la vue\u00a0\u00bb sur le quai, c\u00e9r\u00e9monie au cours de laquelle Il a re\u00e7u des lunettes pour favoriser la concentration de ses yeux.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00ab\u00a0Maintenant, Zackaria voit mieux, il ne reste presque plus immobile et bouge constamment\u00a0\u00bb<\/em>, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Binta. <em>\u00ab\u00a0Je suis tellement heureuse. Je n&rsquo;aurais jamais pens\u00e9 que Zackaria aurait cette chance d&rsquo;\u00eatre op\u00e9r\u00e9. M\u00eame moi, je souffrais de quelque chose que Mercy Ships a gu\u00e9ri !\u00a0\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Binta esp\u00e8re qu&rsquo;un jour son fils d\u00e9cidera de devenir chirurgien, en commentant : <em>\u00ab\u00a0Il pourrait aider les gens comme les gens l&rsquo;ont aid\u00e9.\u00a0\u00bb <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Quant \u00e0 Zackaria, sa principale ambition apr\u00e8s l&rsquo;op\u00e9ration \u00e9tait de jouer dehors et de s\u2019adonner \u00e0 des jeux de construction. Avec une capacit\u00e9 retrouv\u00e9e d&rsquo;aller \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9cole, il \u00e9tait temps de commencer un autre chapitre de sa vie &#8211; un chapitre plus r\u00e9jouissant que jamais
